In the hear of chiang Rai lies Wat Phra Kaew.It was here at this temple that Thailand’s most revered Buddha image,the Emerald buddha was discovered in 1354, However,it was soon moved to numerous towns and cities before finally being enshrined in Bangkok’s Wat Phra Kaew during the reign of King Rama I. Presently, it houses Phra Yok, Which was built in honor of Her Royal Highness Somdej Phrasrinkharintra’s ninetieth birthday.
Other notable features include the Chedi,the main hall, and the principle buddha image:Phra Jao Lan Thong.
Wat Tham Sua, Amphoe Tha Muang.This important temple of Kanchana Buri province is about 5 kilometres from Vajiralongkorn Dam. According to villager,there was long ago an ancient temple locate here, In 1971 a mong called Pasarigo came to meditate in the cave on the temple grounds,

standing on the mount. Other items of interest include an ordination hall with a beautiful of Thai architectural style and a pagoda measuring 69 metres tall and 29 metres wide, where visitors can walk or take an elevator to the top to view the lake and Vajiralongkorn Dam. On this mountain top there are footprints of Lord Buddha and an ancient sacred water pond.
